BFREE is a U.S. registered non-profit 501(c)3 organization, which operates a biological field station located on a 1,153 acre private reserve nestled in tropical rainforest at the foothills of the Maya Mountains in southern Belize. The land borders four protected areas and is connected to over 1.5 million acres of parks and reserves.

BFREE’s mission is to conserve the biodiversity and cultural heritage of Belize while enhancing sustainable development, providing environmental education opportunities, and improving the quality of life for Belizeans and visitors from abroad.
