Harpy House is furnished with two handcrafted hardwood beds (a queen and a bunk bed), and a desk and chair. It is also outfitted with a colorful hand-painted Mexican ceramic sink, beautiful hardwood floors, screened walls and skylights.
Harpy House is one of three private cabins located in the researcher compound, which also includes a 2-stall composting bathroom, hot/cold shower, and the laboratory. All are nestled comfortably in the forest and though very private are centrally located.

Harpy House was designed by Jacob Marlin and built by Marcelino Pop and other BFREE staff. Its construction was made possible through funding offered by many dedicated donors who support developing this type of infrastructure at the field station. A special thanks to Jamie Rotenberg and Vibeke Olson who sponsored the construction of this cabin.
